WSCA Report to Region 2004

The WSCA has had a successful year both promoting architecture and the Society itself despite committee members often being over committed with the combination of work and WSCA business.

There has been a trip to Berlin where everyone enjoyed not only the nightlife but also the architecture of the City. It is planned to organise another trip in November, destination - somewhere warm.

The WSCA hosted a major lecture by Will Alsop filling the Countess of Huntingdon Hall in Worcester. Despite being greatly delayed by traffic problems on the M6 Will Alsop provided a fascinating insight into his unique world of design. Steve Ferrar and Chairman, Sid Glazzard, provided a sterling double act whilst Will battled the traffic gremlins.

The Chairman has held several informal lunches with WSCA members to introduce himself and is shortly holding lectures for local organisations such as the WI. An Architects' Surgery is at the development stage and it is hoped this will be up and running soon.

Finally WSCA are to pilot a website which will have links to the RIBA website. This is now being designed having received the final go ahead from Region.

The WSCA is building on the success of this year with a late summer party being planned.

More support from members would be most appreciated.
